(Random Gibberish)
— Digger

The Digger is a unit of the Wolf Clan.

Overiew[]

Though he may appear scrawny, this shamanistic fighter is a skilled combatant, and his scouting abilities are matched by none. While enslaved by the Lotus Clan, diggers were forced to claw their way deep into the shale mines to look for ore deposits where none of the other Wolf slaves dared venture.

Now free, the digger uses the tools that once aided his Lotus enslavers as weapons against that hated clan. Attached to each of his hands are five razor-sharp blades that the digger uses to swipe at and tear his foes to shreds.

Shalearmor-icon Shale Armor Passive
Can be granted by Druidess' Blessing. Requirements: Shalery
The digger’s ability to burrow through solid ground makes him a great scout unit. Tunneling allows the digger to make a hole, jump into it, and tunnel his way anywhere on the battlefield for short distances. When he emerges from his tunnel, the digger will remove the shroud of war from his surrounding area, though he will remain undetected by the enemy. While doing so, however, the digger will continually drain his stamina, and when depleted, he’ll be forced to emerge from his hole. All Wolf units may adorn themselves in thick armor made of shale, greatly boosting defense against most types of damage.

Usage[]

Thanks to their fast and strong cutting claws, Diggers best fulfill the role of swift, hard-hitting assassins to mow down fragile rangers, healers, and peasants while Berserkers act as slower yet sturdier fighters in longer drawn-out fights. If detected, Diggers can easily flee hostile responders with their swift feet, as sword- and/or club-, staff-toters can quickly butcher or clobber Diggers to death. Shale Armor shall nullify the Diggers' cutting and blunt weaknesses, while Dryad-blessed Tunneling may be used to make either quick escapes or daring infiltrations (e.g. unexpected up-or-down steep, impassable cliffs); in a Wolf-Dragon alliance, tunneled Diggers can act as invisible 'spotters' for Powder Keg Cannoneers' Indirect Fire.

The Forest Temple provides Diggers with Chant of Tremors -boosting their already high attack damage- and Rite of Vigor, giving the Diggers more stamina to run longer distances and stay hidden longer.
